Hey guys, what are your thoughts on Wiseco pistons? I plan on running them with eagle rods. Who has them? Do you like them? If you don't have them, have you read/heard anything good or bad? This is my first ka "build" but I have used them with success in Honda's. To clear things up a little here is an overview of my build so far

Block-

Hot tankedInspectedBored .50mm overHonedArp head studsCrank turned/polishedNew oil pumpNew timing setFull gasket setCometic HP HeadgasketCleveite 77 main and rod bearings

Turbo stuff-

Garret GT2871RCustom manifold/DP/EXBig fmicJGY fuel railPrecision injectors 1000ccCompetition Clutch 450ft/lb 6 puck sprungEtc....

I still don't know what I am going to do about engine management, order a mail tune from jwt/enthaply(sp?)/emance, or a diy like nistune, calum, biki.

My plans are as follows: Max the turbo out (should do ~400hp), then get set of cams and go from there.

Anyways, Do you like wiseco or not?

Thanks

You wont be able to control the 1000cc injectors with any of your options listed. 850cc is the limit for injector size with a 'stock' ecu.

You need a stand alone.

Thanks for the info, I'll guess I'll see if I can get some 780's or so. I don't want to go full stand alone.

ive never heard of wiseco being weaker in a ka. doesnt make sense to me. . wiseco has a higher compression than others so that may have something to do with it.

It does not sound right to me either. I have always had good luck with them, and they have been around for along time. So I have deiced to try them

That goes against common knowledge and you really need to back that up with some proof other than some random guys on some random forum says this and that.

ALL the stateside tuners offer 850cc injector size as their max for a chipped ECU. I dont think that JWT, and Enthalpy, who have been doing this for YEARS on a professional level would be wrong about the max injector size for a stock ecu. If it was possible to tune unlimited CC size for a stock ecu, why would they not offer that service? It also makes no sense at all that a stock ecu would be able to offer a low enough pulse width to be able to control that size of injectors. You have to think about what your working with initially here, which is an ecu designed to control the pulse widths of 270/370, ect size injectors.

Both are good, but arias has proven to be really good on Ivan's 9sec ka-t. i would stick with arias since i know people with this piston and no problem so far. but of course if anything goes wrong then it could be something else like the tune...etc..
