here's the deal... my friend has an 89 240sx hatch sohc. the other night the timing chain "glide" inside the engine broke so naturally it threw off the timing and made things smack around in a very unpleasant way. he's screwed! until granny decided to put up the money for a new dohc KA. he plans to beef up the internals while we have it out to insure safety for his plans for the future ie boost. we need this done quick as he is leaving for the air force soon. here's what we need: recommendations on what internals to use. brand, size of pistons, valve springs etc etc. where to get them. and possibly an estimated price of each. i know this is quite a bit to ask but for the sake of drifting please help us out. or if you know a supplier that has a good customer service dept. that can help us out and supply what we need that would be helpful as well. if you have no experience in this but want to make a dumb comment, please don't. keep it to yourself, we're not interested in if you think he should go with the sr20 or anything of the sort. we're in a bind with a lack of time so we don't have any to waste. any suggestions will help out tremendously and will be much appreciated. thanks.

if you happen to have a spare dohc ka laying around, we need that too.

also, any links to sites that would help out with the swap would aid us in many ways!!! so far all we have gathered is conflicting data that is very discouraging. thanks again.

for the sake of drifting you say......... You can drift ur stock 240 no need for boost. But if you plan on goin turbo it depends on how much power you wanna throw down. Under 250 stock is pretty good, over that id say pistons an if u wanna go nuts get rods too. No need to mess with the valvetrain. An pistons will run you round 400, rods 6-800, these are off the top my head. An I dont know how much time you have an you made it seem like you have only like 2 days which isnt enough so why bother, but if you got a good month go ahead order what you need have em put in or do it urself dont know ur knowledge of cars. And thats bout all i can share.

make sure you get any machine work neccesary done first so that you order the right pistons and any other stuff. if your gonna spend the money for new internals don't skip machine work.
