I have this same problem. I've tried a little to figure it out, but no luck. it doesn't idle rough at all, just has a complete lack of power right under 2K on the tach.

yeah basically thats what its doing the car idles good but it will drop a bit and almost stall then go back up to a decent rpm it will only bog if i try to drive it normal like shifting at 2k but if i hammer it i wont get the bog i dont know where to start im thinking o2 sensor or the coil

I guess i kinda blamed it on bad plug wires. I went to pull out the first plug, and just the wire pulled out. the clamp is still on the plug. runs fine when i put it back in, just probly not the best to keep running it like that, but i need money first. i looked all around the intake, even took all the intake tubes and everything off looking for something out of place, but couldn't find it. so I'm wondering if the motor is a tiny bit out of tune and it just doesn't run right at that rpm under a light load. cause like you said, if i get on the gas it'll run fine. but thats not good to do with the weather as cold as it gets here. 30 below wind chill on tuesday, almost didn't start at all.

I had the same problem that i fought with for a month and it turned out the Throttle position sensor. check your sensor and your battery ground along with all the others. let me know how it goes good luck
