ka24de block with signle head?

is there any way to do a ka24de block with a single head???someone told me that u can but you have to shave the head for the timing chain to fit is that true??if so how can i do this am looking to do somethin a lil different..my friend said he seen it on here but i havent found it at all

not possible completely different clearences within the timing guides

and the KA24E already has Forged pistons soooo why no Ka24E block with DE head + turbo

ok so i can do the single block wit the dual head on it???do i have to worry bout the timing or anythin bout that???cuz am looking to but some boost on it as well i just dont want to come into any big problems if i do this you kno?

you can also do sohc pistons in a dohc for the same affect, but i would scrap the whole idea

ok so am taking it that it wouldnt be good at all lol...is there anythin else i could do bout this?

well that depends. why do you want to do this? be unique? make power but stay NA? we we know what your end goal is we can recommend the best way to reach that goal

yea thats my thing just trying to be a lil differen from everyone else you know and if i could make more power then thats better but if i cant i cant dont hurt to try you know

imo just keep it stock if the ka is good then. if you really are interested in a little more power do a cheap ka-t. if you want to make a lot more power i'd suggest something else

ok yea ppl been tellin me to do a cheap ka-t for now untill i can come up with some thing else u kno..but thanks alot for the help

no prob. the thing with being unique is that it'll never happen in a 240. pretty much ever swap you can think of has been done on an s chassis

Where have you seen that a KA24E comes with forged pistons? I was aware the compression ratio is different. And i dont believe you can swap either head or block, different head bolt pattern isn't it? Maybe you can but it doesnt seem like it would be worth the machine work to fill and redrill tap new holes in either block when both are readily available. I have a ka24e on the engine stand and a ka24de with the head pulled off in the shop, ill have to take a closer look at this for myself. Almost 99.9% sure the pistons are not forged.

no idea about forged pistons but the dohc head will indeed go on the sohc block. some minor work is needed but the pattern is the same
