ka24de block the same as a ka24e block??????

so im woundering if the blocks are enterchangeable. ive heard before that they are but i call the nissan dealer and they said the part numbers are different, but that doesnt mean that u cant put a sohc head on the dohc block. so if anyone has done it or or tried and found reasons it wont work. i really appriceate any info anyone has. thanks

i searched and all i can find is forums about puting a ka24de head on a 24e block and im wanting to do the opposite e head on de block. any info?

From what I've read the DE head is a little larger than the E block, so it seems the E head would be a little smaller than the DE block.
