my engine has 350k on it so rebuilding it sounds like too much of a pain. I'd just rather slapp in an engine w less miles. sr20det not an option

You can buy a freshly rebuilt one with Forged pistons and rods for around $3000-$3500 bolt on a turbo and make mad HP!! as far as the altima Ka24 I seem to remember that the last time I was at the junkyard I saw they were mounted sideways with the exhause mani comming off the front (side) of the engine... so you would have to use a lot of the parts from your curent KA and bolt them on.. to me it seems like a pain in the *** because it's not "plug and play" just get a KA from another 240 no need to go through all that extra hastle.

Buy a low-mileage KA from an S14, switch harnesses and be done with it.

FWD engine is VERY different.

i believe the motormounts aren't the same, the distributor will hit the firewall too, and there may be other things that will just not fit cause of bein FWD.

ok the ka in a 240 is a ka24de the one in an altima is a ka24d... i've swapped both motors and the altima motor is fwd but there is still some diff... intake plenum and i think the head is slightly diff... if you swap you will have less hp... the altima ka only has like 125... the 240 ka has 155... best bet on a ka24de... a 91 ka24... biggest cams you can get in a 240 motor

thanx you really helped me out s14 engine seems like the most logical thing to do. I'm going to be slapping a turbo to it. so a 350k motor didn't sound like a good idea especially with a turbo. rather than change it twice, i'll just change it once and hope for the best. Thanx again peeps! you guys always help me out!!
