First post! wo0 whoo. I knoe theirs info everywere about the auto to man swap but the information im looking for isnt in them. I got this 89 240sx coupe with a auto to man swap not completed. its a ka24de out of a 94 as previous owner states. it has the engine trans connected. question is.... he said he used the stock ka24de engine harness and modified 6 wires at the ecu plug. what wires would that be? also the tps on the engine is a one plug sensor and i found a two wire tps sensor in the car, i noticed a plug hanging right next to the tps and it fits the two plug tps. which one am i suppose to run? Another question.... the trans sensors. would i have to wire up all the sensors? i knoe for sure the vss, and rev. but whats the other sensors for. Do i need them? would it work if i found a auto or man trans harness and plugged it in? is it pnp? I was thinking about just custom wiring it.

your just gonna get a headache if you try that.

Question was the car running before the manual swap?

You need to bypass the neutral safety switch to start the car. You can hook up the speed sensor directly to the old harness. You need to make harness for the reverse lights. You do not need to hook anything else up.

The search more has more detailed info on this you can look it up, its even at the top of the technical forum page.

The guy who owned it before you tried hooking up a manual TPS (one prong plug)he didn't need too you can run it with the old Auto TPS (two prong plug), I don't know what wires he was talking about modifying, he shouldn't have touched it. I have a suspicion he did the manual swap at the same time he did the DOHC swap and he couldn't get the car running. so he thought changing the TPS would make it start.

this is so confusing. going from honda to nissan omfg idk if the harness is original. when i got the car all it had was the ka24de engine and trans installed the harness was on it as well. how can you tell if the harness is the dohc or sohc? and should i switch the tps back to the auto one. i have a strong feeling the engine was a auto ka24de and they installed a manual trans on it. i hope they used manual flywheel bolts is it possible they used auto flywheel bolts? i knoe for hondas u use auto flywheel bolts your chop them off and were would i wire up the rev and vss wire? i herd were the three plugs are by the side of the passager side shock tower.

ok the six wires he was referring to were probably the ecu to body plug that needs to be rewired so your dohc harness will make your dash gauges and ac and whatnot work. as far as the tps, so long as its adjusted correctly it dosent matter weather you use the auto or manual one. the auto one has two plugs one goes to the auto transmission and obviously isnt needed to run a 5speed. you only need to run the speed sensor and reverse lights to the transmission all the others are just BS, so long as the car starts your good to go, and you need to keep the lower harness with the shell, a 5speed lower harness wont work in an auto shell. as far as the flywheel bolts go the auto ones are shorter and if you think thay are in your flywheel i would change them. the auto bolts say AT and the manny ones say MT on the head.

its true! im getting use to it. pretty much my first nissan to convert to stick. ive converted 3 hondas to stick its pretty simple. but on a nissan seems simple too minus drilling the holes for the the clutch pedal.

Update: found a auto harness at the bone yard going to wire it up to the reverse sensor. rather than jumping the one plug to start the car i might run the two wires to the inside and hook it up to the clutch pedal safety switch.

Question: i removed all the vacumm hoses for the emissions. theirs a diapham looking thing connected to the intake manifold. what is it and do i need it connect with a vacumm. Also anyone knoes the radiator hose routing? theirs this one pipe with a sensor connected to it and i have no clue were it goes.
