KA24DE air intake info needed

I recently purchased a Datsun 510 with a KA swap that's supposedly from a '96 240SX. The air intake that came with the car was pretty rough and the sensor was just floating in there. I'm planning on making a new one soon and want to get it right. I'm just trying to find out where on the intake this sensor is supposed to go and if it needs to point a certain way. Any info would be great. Thanks.

It used to be bolted onto the intake box on the stock S14 intake.
It was only used on the car for diagnosis purposes, if I remember correctly, and didn't affect performance.
