is this an easy thing to do? with an ECU and transmission and full engine is it just basically a drop and drive to go to KA24E to KA24DE? my 89 has over 200k on it and it runs great but i think about doing this swap a lot. i miss my old 96 :( and would like to have the powerplant back again.

Honestly I'd save pennies for a CA swap dude. Thats alot of money and hassle for a twin cam motor that makes a little more top end power.

Now, I now this is an old thread, and I'm not making a new one for fear of not using the search button.ok, so if I get a car with a blown ka24d, and one with a running ka24de, that's pretty much all I'll need to do the swap, right? Is there anything else I need to think about before I buy them?

Yup... it should work fine. You should even be able to use the transmission from the E with the DE. And if you can get another car that has a running DE, you have everything else right there on the car. Sounds like a no-brainer if you have it lying around.

YES...come over to the CA side!!! It is the best of course :D an yes, there is quite a good aftermarket for it, just not quite as accessible in the US, but there is still a ton of potential! :D come check out the CA forum sometime...its a bit slow but you might like it!

Yes. If its an S14 into a S13 im not sure how hard it is. I did a 93 KA24DE into a 89 like 3 weeks ago. It was all straight foward.
