KA24 help

Im new. HI. I just bought a 1991 240sx with 88,000 miles on it. There is a noise coming from the top front of the motor. Its definitely metal-metal. Kinda sounds like it could be a bearing. Sounds kinda squeeky. You can hear it at about 1100rpm outside the motor. Ive heard alot of these motors have timing chain/guide problems. This motor is a twin cam. Is it a KA24E or KA24DE?? Does it sound like it could be a timing chain???

if its a 91, it has a dohc ka24de. Pull your valve cover and upper chain cover off, inspect, and go from there.

i believe that those engines have un updated chain guide. but ya pull the valve cover and see if the chain is slapping around. or in another see if it loose.
