the original thread is here

sense then i have made a few decisions and have decided to record what happens from here on in this thread. if this is the wrong place please let me know where to put it. that being said here we go!

So it all started with this car and a serious want to try to drive sideways.

The car is a 90 ka24e auto with a horrible suspension and a light sprinkling of pennsilvania rust. purchased with a blown head gasket for the tune of 300 buckaroos, it should make a perfect "learner" shell (ie - im gonna probably wreck it)

not long after that purchase i decided that i wanted to sport the ka, but with the addition of another cam. so i bought a complete motor and auto transmission swap from some toothless yokel in mississippi. it came complete with oil and most of the transmisson fluid, gauge cluster, ecu, fuse boxes, every other imaginable electronic component, and every wire from its original 92 hatch from bumper to bumper! For all of this and a great story about turning off the paved road i paid another 300 simoleans!

this is what it looked like after i molested it onto my engine stand and got about a 6pack into disassembly.

My plans with this project at this time are as follows.

ka24e to de swap with my-Fresh built ka24deauto to 5speed swap j30vlsd swap

these mods are for sure (for better or for worse)things that im kicking arround but havent decided on yet

Turbo - possibly the most probableMegasquirt - votes still out on this one but i like the way it sounds

im shure that there will be more mods to add to the list but this is where im at right now.

After finally pulling the head off and slipping the pistons out i was left with a surprisingly good looking block

the only real signs of wear i could find anywhere on the internals were these light piston wear marks and a few minor mars on the main bearings. those really made me happy i was rebuilding her. currently the head and block are at a local engine builders getting hot tanked and prepped for assembly. the head is getting reworked but will pretty much be staying stock.

more when i get my motor back
