ka wont crank

i just pulled my ca out and put my ka in.. well she rolls over but wont fire up. she backfires also.. and its getting spark and fuel.. could this be my timing? if so how do i fix it?

Where is this backfiring coming from intake? is your distributor clocked correctly, did you put all the other components back in the car required for the KA? like the ECM, harnesses, sensors?

i dont know anything about the distributor.. i just put it in and wired it up. i had to take it off to change the head gasket.. so when i put it back in i just threw it in its little hole.. and plugged it up. the backfire was coming from the exhaust sounded like from the muffler.. and i believe i hooked everything back up.

ummm when you set the chain timing you are supposed to set the distributor to number one. Did you do that? If not you need to get the crank and cam back on top dead center and set the distributor so it points to number one plug wire on the cap.
