ka wont crank

i just pulled my ca out and put my ka in.. well she rolls over but wont fire up. she backfires also.. and its getting spark and fuel.. could this be my timing? if so how do i fix it?

was your distributor removed at any point?

yes. considering its backfiring without cranking.. is that a timing issue?

If your distributor was moved from its original position it could have messed with your crank sensor. That does mess with timing and would make your car not start. Try slowly moving it while cranking to see if it starts that way.

we tried moving it while trying to crank, got nothing but a meen backfire from the exhaust.. not the intake. we found 2 of my plug wires were destroyed.. so were hoping that has something to do with it.

moving wont do anything, it has to be removed then installed again. set the engine to TDC, remove the dist., line up the shaft pin (with the mark near it) to the mark onthe silver housing, then gently slide the dist. in. it should slide in most of the way then you have to push. keep doing this until the car starts
