Same exact trans.....just swap bellhousings and ur set.....if you drift or race ur car dont spend money on a built trans unless u have the extra cash to waste. Cause ur just gonna break it again

the only difference is that 5th gear is slightly longer, its almost not noticable. you just tach a little lower in the highwaylower RPM= better MPG

I'm positive that even the 5th gear is the same. I had a KA and a SR transmission disassembled and I counted every tooth on every gear, gearing between the two are identical. Is your transmission making noise in 4th or grinding going into 4th?

240_SeX- Where did you get your information from? Every single spec I pull up it's exactly the same...

The S13 SR and ALL KA transmissions are the same, 240_SeX is pulling his from the S14 SR20DET factory shop manual which indicates that the S14 SR has different gearing.

The SR uses an .838:1 gear ratio and the KA uses a .759:1 gear ratio

So if I'm actually able to keep this straight, which I have difficulty with gear ratios I might add, the KA's gear will allow the engine to turn slower given the same road speed.
Found here zerothread?id=278158

I also found the same specs in various google searches.

I'm not gonna argue anymore about it with you, so I'll leave you with this.

If you get a chance in the future to personally view each disassembled trans,(s13 ka and a s13 sr), count the teeth on each gear.

the ka input shaft is slightly smaller after the splines it necks down where the sr input shaft does not do this and is a thicker
