I was wondering on boosting my ka. my question is, is there a lot of problems with boosting ka's? i hear that boosting ka's are great but for all the peeps boosting, do you have a lot of problems with it? should i just do a sr swap. i really like the fact that the k is a 2.4, vice, 2.0. any advice would help thanks.

Searching is your friend... but the way I see it built KA > built SR.

If you're going to ask a question like this, give more information... depends on how many miles are on your KA, and what condition it's in.. also, if you plan to rebuild it, or not.. obviously a rebuild would keep a lot of problems from happening, especially with aftermarket parts.

That is what I think too, it is a matter of what power level you want. But then again, KA will always be more affordable, and will generally produce more TQ. I am an American, and I do still like my TQ.

sorry, but yeah, my ka has about 120, that isnt the prob cause i do plan on rebuilding it. just got into the silvia scene and just like everyone else, they have to start somewhere. anyhow, i would like the torque and yes i did search. i have come across basic problems with a swap, but in general, how is the boosted KA. any regrets, i say that no matter what you do, you will come across some problems, but the main question is, is it worth it. i think i am going to keep my ka. but thanks for the info

I've had CA, SR, and KA-t. Since you're going to rebuild it anyways, just put some good internals in it and you will probably still have the best bang for buck. I definatley like the Ka-t the best.

what internals do you suggest, and what stock internals do you think work great with 300whp estimate?

some people have seen 300 hp on stock bottom ends and maybe a cam up top. I however would not recomend it. for 300HP i would say at the very least put forged pistons. and if you have the money or just want to do it right throw in some rods. if you build the bottom end it will save you down the road if you want to up the boost. 300 hp will also require a new clutch. ACT, Centerforce, RPS all good brands Dont forget to include a good tune. You can do a lot more on weaker parts with a good tune than a crappy tune on a built motor. I'm not a dual cam guy but i have also heard having 2 s13 exhaust cams will help out too.
