I'm just doing a little preventative maintenance on my KA24DE. Wondering what exactly I should change to give her the standard tune-up. I'm going to take it to get an oil change, probably the transmission fluid checked/changed (wants to grind into 3rd every so often, transmission could be in the beginning stages of going.) Coolants are new, just redid all of the coolant system a month ago.

I only have like 5,000 miles on the plugs so should I change those too?

Any suggestions are helpful, thanks in advance!!!

PCV Valve hard to locate and change? My buddy told me they are fairly easy to do, about 15 minutes from start to finish.... probably do that one first.

Also, when I check the injectors; what do you mean exactly? See if they are hooked up correctly or actually pull the injectors out? If so, I'd need o-rings...

Newer to working on cars but, I learn quickly so I appreciate the help!

Check you LSD fluid also. I change that everytime I change the transmission fluid. And maybe bleed your brakes, if it's been awhile. Speedbleeders make this job easy and doesn't take long at all.

There's a difference in fluids between LSD fluids and Non-LSD Diff fluids right?

I have a 91 240sx Coupe SE, so I'm not sure if I have the LSD.... how do I find out other than pulling the rear end apart?

Do a burnout and see if there are two lines. If so you have an LSD.

Your 240 will not have a Vlsd.Only the Super Hicas models did.And the PCV Valve is going to take you a little more then 15mins.LOLThe Ka24de has the PCV Valve in a really dumb hard to get to spot.I had to remove the Alt to gain reach to it.Or even see it.

at least you could take your alternator out. mine was stuck.

back on topic, go around and check all the various electrical ground points while you're in there.

It's much better to look at your diff. and check if theres an orange tag that says LSD, or jack up both rear tires and turn one wheel and if the other wheel turns, you have LSD. Yes, LSD and non-LSD oils are different.

The problem is when trying to check for a sticker. After so many years of dirt, grime and other road stuff. The sticker could of fallen off or is completley covered with grime, making it hard to find, look for. If you jack the car and have a open end and spin the wheels, both will spin. If I remember right, a open end if you jack it and spin the wheel the other will spin the oppsite way letting you know you have a open.
