I was wondering if I could use my KA transmission with a CA engine, or if I would need to buy a CA transmission too?

I believe the bell housing are different, but the internals like gears and stuff are similiar, not necessarily the same, gear ratios are different.

So I think you need the bell housing atleast,

Yep, the only difference is the bellhousing and the 5th gear is a little bit longer(the other gears are the same).I would love to have a Ka transmission(at least the 5th gear) in my CA, would be perfect for high speed Autobahn chasing.

Should be possible, if u change 5th gear(Nissan calls it Overdrive) and the Overdrive counter gear.I have done this to a few other trannys(Opel, VW) and i think it should work the same way in the Ca transmission.I will try this as soon as i get my hands on the needed parts from a KA transmission(which are hard to find over here, so i have to get them in the US and the shipping for a complete transmission would be to expensive that's why i wanna do the 5th gear swap).
