sorry if this has been asked beforei searched for an hour and couldn't find anythinganyways i pulled my ka transmission to change out the throw out bearingnow im trying to put it back in but everytime i get the input shaft to line up it wont go all the way in.. there is about a 1 inch gap between the bell housing and the engine.. does anyone know what this could be?? do i just need to mess with it and wiggle it around until it slides all the way in??

The guide looks like a black plastic tube with teeth and you have to line up the flywheel ,clutch and plate and to get the transmission in that extra in rotate the that little gear thing that goes to the drive shaft then gigle the transmission and it will go in, well thats what I did and it worked.Good luck

Did you take out the shifter? When I drop just the transmission and I'm putting it back on some times I put it in upside down. Then when the input shaft is in place you turn the transmission right side up while pushing forward and it usually slips right in place.

I also have the engine jacked up by the harmonic balancer (with a block of rubber or wood under it and not much pressure) a little bit so the angle is more inline with the transmission while your putting it in.

I always rotate it back and forth, while "jiggling" have someone or a jack in the rear of the transmission as well!!
