KA transmission on an RB -- I tried to search first!

I'm asking for someone else on another board, because I honestly didn't know the answer, and I DID try to search first!

When doing an RB swap what (if any) mods are needed to use the KA24's transmission?

I think I've heard of people using the stock transmission, but I'm not 100% so I didn't wanna give the guy inaccurate information.

it will not bolt onto a RB.

Wrong it will bolt up, you have to drill out a hole or two a little bit but all the holes line up except 1 or 2, not worth it though, you will have to cut a little out the shifter hole on the body and also you will need a custom drive shaft is the whole transmission is longer.Ryan

thats not bolt up sweetie, thats modify to make fit.

so you can use a KA transmission with modified holes and nothing else?

Yea like I said basically you can with a little MODIFYING but its not worth it... its basically going to cost the same for the driveshaft as another rb transmission would.Ryan

well it dont matter to me b/c i have to get a new DS anyways and its not going into a 240 anyways so i have to make new shift linkage

I used RB bell housing on ka transmission ... true you have to get your driveshaft modified or buy an aftermarket but from now on you can use ka trannies which are really cheap. It works well if you are not making big power.

it works just read a thread about it earlier however, it does require some minor mods.
