I would guess that you mean SR20DET, and not RB20DET. But the answer to either question is no, not without a mount plate. And there is no significant advantage to doing it. The ratio's are a little shorter in the SR, I believe, but it is not nearly enough for the trouble.

you would need a KA bellhousing. unbolt the sr bellhousing and bolt on the KA, you can now bolt it to your KA.

unless youre trying to put a KA transmission on your sr20, then you do jsut the opposite of that, you just need the right bellhousing.

and only a few varients of sr20 trannies had the shorter fifth gear.... the de maybe?

You cannot unbolt the housing from the KA, it is part of the trans, where it is not on the SR trans. So you either need a mount plate, or you need to cut the bell housing off of the KA trans, and then you would need to weld eyelets on to the bell to bolt it on. Not at all worth the trouble for a shorter fifth.

In any case if you are looking for a shorter fifth gear you can look into the CA18de transmission it used the FS5W71C transmission with the same length. NISMO sells the shorter 5th ratio that came from the CA18det transmission to e used are our 240sx FS5W71C transmissions. You can also look into the FS5W71C transmission from the Z31 300zx 1986-1989, although that 5th gear is the same as the KA.There is also the FS5W71B transmissions that were used for the NAPS motors they as well can be used, but the speed sensors would need to be retro fitted, they also share smaller 5th ratio's than the 240sx. You can only use the transmission from the early 80's 200sx, or fab a new drive shaft if you chose to use the truck transmission's which are longer in length.
