Hi,

I remember chatting to movingviolation on msn last year and he mentioned that a KA throttle body bolts straight on (with a bit of porting of the manifold) does anyone know who would ship one to the U.K. because the KA only came in the Terrano 2 and they never sold too well so I'm having trouble finding one here.

Cheers

Paul

A Throttle body isn't too bad, you can probably ship it through UPS Internatial, or Federal Express if they go over there, or even the Postal Service, it's the big things like hoods and bumpers that are hard to ship,

I'm in the states and am having that same problem. I just did a CA swap, but I want to retain my cruis and want the bigger opening. The problem I seem to have is that all the junkyards seem to like to keep the motor in one peice and won't take things like that off of it. If I come by some and you 2 are still intrested, let me know and I'll get one sent to each of you.

I have a spare KA throttle body and can probably get more pretty easily (Dallas has a LOT of junkyards with a LOT of 240's in them) I only have one extra right now but in about a month I'd be willing to source quite a few. Let me know if you guys need them, I can check on shipping to Europe as well.

Edit: first person to e-mail me at [email protected] with a reasonable price has dibs :)

Jon, re-read ur statement there dude.... hehehehe. But for clarification, it seems that it has to be the DE one. I tried to use my E one, but it's upside down so I have vacumm lines on top that should be on the bottom and coolant lines on top that should be on bottom. Hopefully the DE will work, cuz I REALLY miss my cruise control.

You guys actually need the KA24DE throttle body not the Ka24EI got the Ka24e, it plugs in, but the accelarator cable is on the opossite side, I had to get a KA24DE. but if you need the ka24E one I got one.

Newbie question: Does putting a ka24de throttle body on the ca intake manifold help with performance at all?

O ya, the throttle body on the Ka is much bigger in diameter than the ca, it allows more airflow which it results in more hp.

Wow that's kinda great, just after my throttle body problem is sorted out through Sean (hasn't arrived yet, but like i told you the timing is perfect  ) ,there's a response to a ten month old thread.

Nathan you got mail anyway.;)

@ normaspirated: I don't think that puting on just the throttle body on a stock CA will give you a big gain (if any), but when you want to run big power the stock one will react like a restrictor (AFAIK it will be benificial above the 300 HP mark to run the KA TB).

Cool. Thanks. I'll remember to tell the shop that's doing it to use the KA throttle body.

If you're having trouble finding one you can try looking at a Stanza or Axxis van with a KA24E. They will work fine also. I did a little writeup when I swapped mine for my n/a CA, scroll to bottom of this page.
