Frustration at its best! First off the setup:

CP pistons..stock boreP & P HeadV2 CamsFully Balanced Cometic HGAMS Rods--Sportsman740cc Injectors/Cobra MAFJWT ECU tuned for 740 injectors and Cobra MAFT3/T4 turboFPR set at 43.5 PSI w/ no vacuumtiming set at 20

Now on to the frustration:

First when we initially tried to start the engine we would get nothing. It would turn and turn, try to catch then shut off. Longest idle, if you want to call it an idle, was about 5 seconds. After checking over things...plugs, timing, fuel delivery/pressure, maf plug, TPS plug, reading ECU codes....we came up empty. Car still acting up but no idea why. For some reason I felt very persistent so I just kept trying. To my surprise, on one try the car just began to idle. To be honest Id love to take credit for doing something but...I DID NOTHING! It just started...go figure. So at this point Im lost wondering why the stupid thing wouldnt idle at first but Im happy at the same time because its progress in the right direction. Ok, on to the next....so I decided Id let the car idle for 20 min or so and it did just that. Next was to get some revs out of it but no luck. If I even look at the throttle too much it just cuts off. Ive checked the usual suspects.....MAF plug (not sure if there is actually a test to check the MAF itself), TPS plug, fuel pressure, fuel filters (for dirt), plugs (all looked clean), more ECU codes--nothing notable, timing--right on. So now the question....does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem could be? Im all out of ideas and feel like lighting the car on fire! Well not really but the amount of frustration could warrant such action. Anyway, any and all suggestions will be appreciated. Ive had 3 people look at it and still no answers. Car idles but will not rev....at all! Thanks in advance.

I know everyone loves pics and if it may motivate you to give inputs....im game. Here is a pic of the setup right after we dropped it in:

The MAF should come up with about 1 volt when the car is on.

Also, I'd double check vacuum lines.

I remember when my MAF and O2 sensor were unplugged the car didn't want to rev.Check their wires to see if they are messed up.

That's a real nice looking engine you got there, I hope it runs!

as dumb as it sounds make sure you mafs is installed in the correct direction....dont take it the wrong way. I've seen two buddies make this mistake and i didn't even notice until a good 10min of brain storming the possible problems while staring at the engine bay.

edit:

your pic does not work so i cant see the bay / setup

Thanks but prolly not....pretty much a new item and also, i would still be able to rev. My pressure gauge shows that the pressure is there and revs from idle do not require the rate to change.

I had a simular problem when i started mine up just last weekend i double checked the distributer to make sure the rotor it was pointing dead at #1 inside the cap on comprssion stroke and on top dead center and it was off a tooth or 2 so i reset the distributer, and problem fixed as far as idle im still wrking on that myself I have to add 30% with my air fuel controller to be at 15.5 on my wide band . any way check your distributer . good luck . nice build !!!!!!!

Very nice set up...not too many ka-t's in the 510s. Where's that LBG located at?
