I'm not one to usually like anything on Ebay, for the simple reason that most of it is crap unless you can see proof that it is in fact the real deal, especially auto parts. Not to mention I don't like the idea of buying something from people I don't know. (Which is why I bought my brakes through a NICO sponsor). But I decided what the hell, let me just check it out for ****s and giggles. I stumbled across this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...wItem

Now I've come across a lot of SS Autochrome auctions, and I will steer away from them b/c aparently they have a bad reputation or something. But they have a T3/T4 turbo with manifold for like $500. I was just trying to find if anyone on ebay had a used turbo to sell, wasn't expecting to come across this gem. So those of you who have been out there for a while have any of you dealt with these people and if so what was your experience? Sounds too good of a deal to be true, but hey what do I know.

i have yet to hear a single good thing about SSA's turbochargers, BOVs, or wastegates. apparently the ICs are supposed to be somewhat decent, and the manifolds are hit and miss.

if i had to buy it, i'd sell the turbo, bov, and wastegate for sure.

doesn't leave you with much of a kit after that now does it.

But its not SSA Autochrome its someone else, which is why I'm kinda wondering about it. they have a similar kit with a smaller t3/t4 hybrid for 700 which is probably the one I'd go with. If I could just get a turbo and manifold as a kit for under 500 that would rock, I found a megan racing intercooler for 150 and bov are cheap too.

The piping fo the IC is thin wall aluminum, not very strong. The couplers are made out of rubber, you want triple ply silicone, no rubber. The wastegate looks decent, you'll probably want to change the spring in it. They're usually weak. The BOV is crap, it will stay open when the car is idling. No name turbo, wouldn't trust it. The tubular header will crack unless you get a downpipe with a flexpipe built into it.

Those are all China made parts... or at least most of it, including intercooler kit & turbo.

So basically unless it's name brand stuff stay away from it? I'll just have to piece this together myself I' don't have the 3K for a name brand turbo kit. Of all of the ones out there the Greddy kit is the best value for the money since it comes with every single thing I would need. Guess I'll just have to put away the turbo dream until I have 4K socked away which won't be anytime in the anywhere near future. Oh well, was really hoping to make my buddy and his cherished SRT4 cry this summer.

well i guess that would depend on the brand name but pretty much stay away from stuff other people have complained about regardless of how cheap it might be.i couldn't help but lol when i read this part "Polished 38MM Wastegate (incredibly loud! comes with adaptor and plate)" INCREDIBLY LOUD? is that supposed to be a good thing? hahahathere is no mention of fuel management, oil feed or return, and downpipe either so it is far from a complete kit.

You don't need name brand stuff.. you just don't want **** parts.

Their manifolds are good for the money even if they crack. Just don't buy one of their parts that will blow your motor.

Do you have a good running 240 right now?If yes, then you don't want to turn the car into a total POS. Because that's what's gonna happen if you put that kit on your car. You'll have more problems and probably ready to sell the car or at least get what you can for that kit. Save your money and get a good kit. Not to mention I didn't see anyhing regarding fuel management. No FMU at a bare meminum. That's just a setup to blow your engine bolting that crap on the car like that.

I'm not looking to push 10 or 14 psi, I just want to be in the 6-8 psi range. Realistically I would be happy with 200HP for right now. Like I said I was just looking to find a used turbo on EBAY and came across this. Thought I'd ask to see what you guys thought. So realistically what would you guys say would be good for a low budget turbo setup minus the fuel and engine management. Just for the manifold, turbo and connectors? I've decided to run Deatschwerks injectors since they fit in the stock fuel rail and I found a nice sized MR intercooler somewhere for around 150, either that or I swipe one from a junked car and have it fully flushed out before I install it. Would it be cheaper to just pull a turbo from the junkyard and get a rebuild kit or should I just keep looking for one elsewhere. Speaking of junkyard turbo's, does anyone know what turbo's the FC and MK3 Supra had on them. I know the Z31 had a small T3 but I'm sure to find some Mk3s and FCs in the junkyard around here.

If you are happy with 200hp go and buy a SAFC, 370CC injectors, a T3 turbo from a Volvo or a Z31, Walbro fuel pump and a complete SR intercooler piping with intercooler. Fabricate your manifold using JGS kit and go to your local muffler shop for a downpipe.Using this, will put you near (if not over) the 200hp mark and if you shop well, will set you back probably no more than 1200.SSA is crappy and not reliable at all.The only thing I will bought from them are their exhaust kits that seems quite decent at the time.

I am sure that everyone is dooking on your post (and I did on a previous), but you have to think about what matters. Some of those parts are not altogether that functional. I will get flamed, but I have an SSAC cooler, and will buy the mani, maybe the WG. Yes, they are chinese, but all of the welds on the intercooler are GREAT, and the interior looks superb. I trust the mani to a limited amount of power. I would advise that you get the kit, but get rid of the turbo like Clamydia. It isn't even good to uprade your other turbo's parts. Just think, Good Riddance. But I am pleased with the integrity of the cooler, and will buy a few other limited parts from him. Also, with the WG, make sure your tune is suitable in case it freaks out, like some people (SunnyS14) will tell you that it will. I am not talking smack, he has had a hard boost experience, but use it as a warning.

If you want 200hp, the easiest and least expensive way, get the ssac bottom mount manifold, an sr turbo, and the sr smic(and the other required parts). everything fits just fine you'll have a reliable kat for around $1000-1500

And I would be willing to sell you my piping kit.
