I dont know about this one very much.

Basically i'm trying to get my low boost, ka-t done for around $1k. i'm looking at these and not sure which one would be better.

i know there's better ones like peak, and custom made and i'm not looking for a 600 dollar manifold to run only 7-8 psi. but for these ones which one do you guys think would be the best?

Also i'm gona be runnning a rb20 t28(t3 flange) or 300zx(z31) t3 turbo.I've both and also was told from a local rb guy, my t28 shouldnt have ceramic exahust fins, and would have faster spooling compared to the z31. so which one from these do you guys think would run/ be better?

Suggest you look around in the Ka-t section.

Moved to KAT

The Cast manifold is a far better option then the stainless one. The stainless one is junk, Do Not Want.

The Z31 T3 is bigger and better suited turbo for the KA and will make more power then the RB20 turbo.

thanks WD. and my goals are less than 300 for right now. hoping for around low boost 240-260 or around there with nistune.
and i guess i'll be going with the cast then, as far as the wastegate opening what do i do with that? since the t3 turbo is internally waste gated? i've read i could just weld shut the internal and run external but not sure which would be best for a solution. i'm looking to get all opinions.

You can use the internal one and block off the external port on the manifold. Or use an external one and just leave the vacuum line disconnected to the internal one until you can weld the flapper closed.

I prefer external wastegates.

you prefer because the psi can be adjusted with springs correct? internal cannot. i guess i'll just weld the flapper shut and what do i do with the vac line after i weld the WG shut and put the external WG on?

I prefer external because the design is better depending on wastegate placement. The external also moves more volume, helps prevent spikes etc. I've never been into using the springs as a primary source of boost control, I always use a controller. I've had a turboxs controller since 2000, on 3 different cars and it's worked flawlessly.

I've been using a Tial 38mm, which is the size you'll need, for a few years with no issues. Tial makes a quality product across the board. I had a HKS for awhile only because it came with a kit. They are far to expensive imho.

This is the cheapest one that I would use...

the only thing I see with the ebay cast manifolds are the port shape, I mean a few hours with a grinder should fix it but damn whats so hard about proper shaped ports?

I love my emusa external but until I get it reirc I cant deal with it. Went back to the old trusty internal cause I am getting too old.

ebc ftw save up till you find a good ebc. I have a gen 1 hks would not sell for 3 times what I paid!

ok thanks guys well i've been talking to my buddy thats like a freaken nissan genius. he has a 313 whp rb25 hatch, on stock everything, IIRC. and he said to just run the internal until i switch to the hx35 later. he said its alot simpler and will reduce chances of super lag and boost spikes, or something like that. so i need to have a block off plate fabbed. i plan to get a screamer pipe to when i switch to the hx35. those things are freaken sweet!

What manifold is that in the top picture? I like the turbo placement on that one better than a lot of the other cast manifolds I've seen, can't seem to find it anywhere though.

Yeah I looked through ebay for it, could only find the older style ones with the turbo placed farther back, do you have a link for that ad listing?

well guys i'm ordering the top one from that webiste, i called( and awkwardly they use a cellphone??) and talked to a girl who spoke little english, named "PHAN"(i'm suspecting vietnamese) and asked if they actually have it in stock, and she said yes. then i asked who makes the mani, them? or do they buy and sell it. they said they make it. cool. so i then asked if it does not correctly fit then can i return it? because i'm not about to lose 90 bucks, i asked this 3 times, through out the whole 5 min convo. and she said yes i can for a full refund. great! she got kinda of irritated, and said i understand. lol i had to make myself very clear guys. so when i get it i'll test fit, and post pics for you all.

Yeah I like the look of that manifold, but the round ports worry me, and it doesn't look like there's really enough room to grind them out to proper shape without cutting through the outer walls of the runners. Idk, I'll wait for feedback lol. Might just have to bite the bullet and spring for a JGS.

if there is no room, then i may break the through wall, and just weld them. not sure how well that will hold but, if it doesnt work out then i'll just say it doesnt fit, and make a claim for a false advertised part or something.

i just got mine a week ago, & i see your running a t3 also. well if you decide to stay internally gated then i'd tell you search ebay for a 35/38mm block plate & its about $20. i'd also back the plate with a gasket for about $6~$6.50+. check the manifold & make sure you either weld or block the t4 bolt hole closest to the first top exhaust flange hole, because its tapped all the way through & will result in an exhaust leak. i hope this helps?

so you ordered from speedy racer? and from the paypal account, they order their parts from emusa. because the reciever account was [email protected] which theyre website freaken sucks. and yes im deciding to stay internal for right now so i dont have to mess with that stuff. and i'm gona have one fabbed for me at some shop here in my city. i'll probably make the gasket or something i dont know. and thats a great help bro, thanks! does the turbo flange get in the way of the bolt hole though??

That manifold has been used by a couple already with no fitment issues mentioned. Just need to work the ports a little.

You have to be careful how much porting you do. If you cut a square shape to deep into the flange it will weaken where the runner is cast. Meaning the angles will be steep if you intend to use a gasket and port match it. You'll see what I mean as soon as you lay a gasket on top of it. Basically I'm just saying be careful how much material you grind off of $90 dollar cast manifold...lol.
