I need your guys thoughts. Just bought my first car last summer, saved and worked for it and bought myself a clean 240sx. I wanted that specific car. I had a 98 mustang didn't like that turd and I don't wanna drive a mustang anyways. I also got into the car scene it's been about a year in a half or two. I always wanted a 240sx since freshman year and got one my own junior year. Not daddy's money. I know a lot but not enough if that makes sense. I know some about the KA and all the swaps that I can do. I'm saving money up for something. Yes something, can be a turbo for my KA or a swap. This is where I need you guys opinion. Should I turbo the KA or do a swap? It's going to be a clean daily but also drift it somewhere around. If I do a swap I'm thinking RB or SR. Don't want anything big like v8 or Jz swap.

Anyways if I turbo the KA I thought about t3/t04e turbo, SR FMIC, CX racing down pipe, hks BOV, turbo manifold idk yet any suggestions? the oil and turbo feed lines I can buy separate after I have everything, also upgrade my fuel injectors. (550cc?)

Theirs a lot I'll need to turbo just name more obvious parts KA-T.org didn't help, I'll start a build once more than 1 person helps me. :bigthumb:

Personally, I would go KA-T for sure. But that is just me. You already have the KA so why not make use of it? I just got my 240 a few months ago and have slowly been collecting parts for the inevitable turbo. I made a list of everything I'm buying, some things you may not need but I've never heard someone say, "Wow I wish I didn't prepare that much." when it comes to turboing. You are missing a lot of things though. As long as it is a dual cam and you do a compression test to make sure the motor is sound I'm sure you can get by with 8psi no problem. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... sp=sharing

That's a lot if money. I'd rather do a SR swap or a RB20 swap.

The only swap that makes sense is a RB swap because after the swap, you'll have more power.
To me, if you don't want to pay the proper price to boost your car properly, then do a swap that would actually gain you power.
A SR swap wouldn't really do that.

Yeah 4k on KA is a little too much might as well do a swap. I'd swap a SR but it's just too basic, I mean it is a kickass motor. But I decided to go RB20 might be better than a booster KA. It's redline is at 8k and I mean it's a inline 6 can't say no. And they're not expensive is what I've seen on jdm motors websites.

Well it seems as if your mind is made up.

Good luck with what ever I6 engine you choose. But don't be surprised if a boosted 450whp KA passes you by and you can't catch it....

hey KA'S have so much potential. so underrated now in days. that's one think people don't do, they hate the KA because it's not stock turboed, once they torso the KA with how much Torque it has people get surprise. I love KA especially mine, rebuilt KA pulls so strong. I love it, but I decided might go RB25. you can't hate on the RB25, SR20 is too basic still badass engine tho.

I'm actually going KA-T with my 240sx and I'm already damn near 5k in parts. Doing it properly cost $$$.

This is what I'm running so far.

Rebuilding the KA24DE and reusing internal parts with new
NPR Rings
King Bearings
Fel-Pro Engine gasket Set from frsport
ARP Head Studs
enthalpy Rom Tuned ECU (this is a must for your new maf and injectors. After the first tune it only cost 150 to retune it)
N60 Maf (Z32 Maf is better if you are going for higher HP).
Spec* Stage 3 clutch
fidanza FlyWheel
SR20 370CC Injectors
HKS Blowoff valve
Summit Racing Braided Steel 3 and 10AN lines with Earls Fittings for oil feed and return.
Xcessive Upper Oilpan with SR20 Stock lower oil Pan (Has Oil return threads and allows extra oil to help keep oil cooler)
GlowSift Gauges (I went a bit cheaper here as AEM did not have the budget for but I got Boost/Vacum, Fuel Presure, & oil Presure)
ISIS 255 LPH Pump (Most people use walbro, but I wanted to give the little guys a try)
NGK Spark plug wires
ISIS Fuel Presure regulator
Excessive Engine Lowering Brackets (Helps clearance for the sr20det down pipe).
Isis oil catch can

I got a ISIS Turbo Kit for the ka24de from Enjuku racing which consist of
T25 Turbo
FMIC and piping
Downpipe and Turbo Outlet pipe
Isus Turbo Manifold

Yea that's basically it. You'll still need a few small pieces, nor do you actually need everything in this list. This is just the route I took. But if you don't want to pay more thant 3.5-4k+ for your KAT, then your better off getting the SR20 Swap. I'll be starting an actual build thread tomorrow if you want me to post the link to it. I plan on have my engine assembled tomorrow, but I won't get first start probably for 2-3 weeks.

Alot of my parts came from Enjukuracing which I called over the phone. Ask for Sam if you use them, he's really good rep.
