alright so i performed the "diagnostic test" on the ecu to pull the check engine light codes and got 34 and 93. The car was running flawless before this, but I wanted to know what the codes were anyway. So I turn that diagnostic test screw on the ecu fully couter-clockwise like it says start my car up and it idles perfect.

So I take her for a spin and when I pop the gear in neutral and begin to brake towards the stop sign, the rpms drop WAY LOW-like 250rpm's then shoot back up slowly to 1000rpm and so on. I have to apply some throttle to keep steady rpms. I don't have a wideband, but my car smells like a freakin 2-stroke and feels slow in the low rpm range but doesn't sputter or miss while driving. I think my car is running really rich and backfires abnormally loud in the low rpm's.

In the driveway, it idled a little more steady (still rich I can smell a "gassy kind of smell, you know like the exhaust from a go-kart or a dirt bike?) HERE'S THE WEIRD PART: It's idling in my driveway somewhat steady then I pushed on the brake pedal and rpm's dropped to 100rpms and went up again like I said above. It did this repeatedly as I pumped the brake pedal. Like I said my car was running PERFECT before I pulled the codes and now it seems to not wanna idle and run really rich after braking. I'm thinking either the ecu is still not in the proper mode? Or the brake system?

My specs:-jwt ecu-555cc nismo inj.-blow through z32 mafsANY help is appreciated thanks guys

If at idle and you push your brake and somehtign is messed up thne either you got a vaccum issue most likely on the brake line to intake mani, or a gound issue. My dash was messed up from a ground in the engine bay.

Try clearing the codes? 93 is not an active code #

yep cleared them and they were off for a while then my car acted funky..so I checked the ecu because I thought I left the ecu in the incorrect mode or w/e. Then I started her up again and the codes popped back up. I might check/clear the codes today to see if any new codes popped up. What do you mean 93 is not active? I don't have a fsm and haven't had any luck on the internet..

I searched around and I was wondering if bad spark plug wires could be the problem? Kinda doubt it but I can check to see if spark is jumpin around..still running rich as hell

Damn spooled,You copy cat!lol You just had to try and be like me. j/kIt sounds like a vac leak or a bad ground that causes an amp draw when the brake switch is made. Idk for sure but I hope you don't wash out your rings like me, this ain't no fun at all. Good luck bro, I hope you find culprit and get it straight.

When your car is running in neutral if you pump the brakes does your vac drop alot and make the car stumble a little?

93 is not a code. did you miscount the flashes maybe? You can go to autozone or something and get an OBDII scanner and see if it will bring up the codes that way.

You and zippy man. REPLACE those knock sensors haha. http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/240sx/

haha, I know wtf?! I just drove it around the block, stopping quite frequently to see if it stumbles again and I pumped the brakes like 50 times..and guess what?! she drives and idles perfect again!..this is good and bad, all i need is for the car to screw up on me when I'm 90 miles from home getting 5mpg lol

What I actually changed this time just for the hell of it was I disconnected the mafs ground wire from the chassis. This was something I "added" like a week or so ago. Idk if this was the problem but it runs good for the time being.

I counted many times-9 long flashes followed by 3 short flashes, but maybe these rich fumes are getting to our heads haha

o yeah at idle, when i pump the brakes the vac hardly drops at all, maybe 1hg/cm3

This might be an electrical issue: even before this happened, when i turn OFF the a/c the rpm's drop really low and go up constantly "hunting" for an idle speed. I have to blip the throttle to return to normal. I'm gonna try turning various things on like a/c, headlights, heater at idle while pumping the brakes and see if it does this again..

Man i hate that. Go to figure out a problem and it disapears. 240's seem to be good for all these ghost problems.

for real, i just tried the headlights, a/c, heater, pumped the brakes, rev'd up then pumped, still idles steady and normal..idk guys I was thinking maybe the iacv got stuck or something but I don't think it would make the car run rich..I'm guessing it was the ground wire for the mafs? It's disconnected now..

I too have had this issue. Im not turboed, but ever since i got my AEM EMS and 5 spd installed, breaking while in gear causes the idle to drop and sometimes even stall. Kind of embarissing to have to start your car up at a stop sign in traffic . I too think this is an eletrical issue because it never happened until i removed my SAFC neo and put in the EMS. Could there be anything else going on?

probably a bad ground somewhere? idk this issue was weirdI drove my car like 80miles yesterday and it ran like a champ so I feel a little more safe..I just remembered I flipped the rear defroster switch that night and it ran all funky..I might try that right now lol

BTW, anyone know someone who drives a white kouki s14 with rims, HID's, 4cyl w/ exhaust, a black lip, no spoiler, and a nismo decal on the pass. side trunk lid? Saw him yest. going East on the 210, tried to race me but I don't feel like getting a triple digit speeding ticket on a sat. night lol The gov. crushes your car now if you are street racing which is f*cked up
