Because it's against his cold pipe....helps prevent it from being destroyed. When you going to the track/dyno

I dunno, thats how it came from AutoZone. It must be there to aid in the cooling of the fluid with the special ribbed design for high performance.ANd to pretect from extreme under hood temps.

Hey guys, i'll post a dyno and 1/4 by this week. I gotta get my z32 calibers fixed first. I think i put them on backwards, lol. Besides that, holy **** 15 psi is FUN!!! The gt32 is awesome. i'm hitting full boost 15 psi in first gear, lol. About 2800 rpm to redline. Also revving to 7xxx is awesome. Stock internals. I plan on buying another ka and building it for some serious street power. Besides that, thats another engine i installed since my other one blew due to bad tunning and oil starvation. Oil return line leak. I

What a/r is the turbine, and what wheel do they use?

Nice setup, btw.

Yea, about 2800rpm at 7psi, sorry, but it's really hard to keep my eye on the boost gauge when going through first gear, lol. Turbo actually starts building boost at 2400. I'll check it out tomorrow under wot exactly. Sorry, the only thing i know is that it has a .63 hotside. I was reading about it on ka-t.org and saw the dyno graphs. If you call up AMS, they can probably tell you exactly. Besides that, the cams make the ka a screamer. I still need to fine tune it with a safc and probably advance it 2 more degrees considering how conservative timming is for jwt. Besides that, i'm perfectly happy with the setup.

You are doing almost my exact setup i plan on doing. GZ mani, AMS GT32, and Crower V2's. Although i would like to do AMS fuel kit also. Be sure to keep us updated. I can't wait to see the results!

EDIT: What FMIC are you using?

Thxs for all the compliments guys! I just got my z32 brakes fixed and man, they are worth the money! The wheels are Work Equips, 16x8 16x9. Besides that, my friend was taking care of it for me when i was gone for a month. When i came back, it started knocking and leaking oil from the return. Thats what happens when you let friends drive your car, they blow it up!

The shroud fan broke and i just threw it away. Right now, i'm having no overheating problems at all. I might end up getting electric fans or another shroud at a junkyard in a few weeks.

haha yeah thats just me being picky. But I love a clean engine bay.

and please please please get a shroud or elec fans before doing any sort of racing, I would hate for something bad to happen to that motor because of something stupid like cooling air flow.

I wonder if the stock shroud will fit in there now, with that cold pipe being there.

Look good! Nice job...

On a side note I would try to hide some of those wires... that's one reason I like the SR's is that they have almost no wires unlike the KA which is a wire jungle....

Anyhow good job!

^^^ You could classify the KA as "unshaved."

You might have me mixed up with someone else, i never had Volks, lol. I had some mix matched wheels before, like 2 chromies and 2 donuts, lol. Thats why i was saving for the last 9 months! BTW, running the track tomorrow if everything goes right!

Eh, you shouldn't have the valve cover port connected to a pressurized pipe. It should be plumbed into the intake pipe (between turbo and MAF). The PCV system requires the scavenging created by this venturi setup.
