How long or miles for new all forged internals from ka24de,com ross pistons8;5 , total seal rings, pauter rods , arp studs, jim wolf cams jim wolf ecuvalves, springs etc. I have 1700 miles on reg. motor oil just driving around I have changed oil every 400 miles and now running 7 psi . When can I put synthetic oil in and take to dyno? Can I do it on reg oil? I would just feel better with synthetic before I step into more boost on dyno. Please help me and what did you do if have same setup. The machine shop said 5000- 6000 miles to let rings set? Do I have to wait that long for high boost?

engine break in is a subject that has about 10,000 different answers.

IMO, at 1700 miles, and oil changes every 400 miles, you're engine is well past the point of being broken in. you should have switched to synthetic over 1600 miles ago.

keep in mind, this is just my opinion.
