Kind of a newbie question, but have to ask. I recently boosted my KA. Ran strong for about a week then messed up a few pistons and a rod... But now in the process of rebuilding. I took apart the motor and I realized that the KA has alot of random emissions crap all over it.

Anyway... On the lower intake manifold, I noticed a long pipe that goes to a sensor then T's off to another sensor to the back of the collector. Previously there was a goose-neck on the intake pipe that has a rubber hose to the long pipe on the collector.... Now that i have intercooler piping running to the throttle body, I have no goose neck to attach a rubber hose to this long pipe.... My question is does it need to have some kind of a vacuum source from the intercooler piping or can i just put a small breather filter on the end of it?

If I'm not mistaken, that hose needs a vacuum source because the other end connects to the IACV system.

yeah, it goes to the IACV. Just wondering if the vacuum source could be from anywhere such as using a T fitting from the brake booster.

That's almost identical to my best friends setup, he is just running 370's in the stock rail though. Its strong, reliable, and quick enough that it's been fun for a few months. time for more though, according to him. I dont know if the 145k mile KA will take much more hahaha.

I'm running an RB stock turbo on a JGS mani, it's definately alot of fun.
