so i started my ka-t on my 1996 240sx and was wondering:

i have a stock motor and just hook up my turbo + manifold + intercooler system + oil feed/return + mafs, will this thing be able to idle at least? I have not done any timing or fuel management yet... i have timing and fuel controllers in my garage, but i just wanted to see if it would idle with no problems.

so i did all this and it is not idling properly... starts fine and idles for a few seconds, then bogs down and dies. though in the few seconds, it even revs.

here is my setup:

how is it a problem? seems like user error to me. you halfway installed the kit and it doesnt run right.......your gonna need a rom tune or at least an safc to control that maf. a rom tune and some bigger injectors would be ideal.

yes sir, i have all that stuff, but just wanted to see if it will idle. this other guy told me it is my mafs. this makes alot of sense bc i have z32 mafs and it is hard to find a wiring diagram for obd2 s14. ill have to go look around

Look on Jim wolf technologies website for a wiring diagram for Z32 maf onto 240sx.

Do you have bigger injectors? Why would you want to "idle" the motor? You need to do some serious reading man. I see a "blew my motor" thread in your near future.

First of all, the MAFS voltages are screwing with your ECU and its jsut dumping fuel into your motor in response.

hey WD,

I have 650cc injectors (AMS fuel system), innovate lc-1, and megasquirt that I have not installed yet. I am just trying to take baby steps. i wanted to see if it will run with just the turbo piping installed, bc i have no idea if i did it right.

actually, my goal for doing it in baby steps is already working bc i would not have known that i did the mafs wrong. then i would have to go back and say "ok... is it the megasquirt? did i install the fuel system correctly? etc"

i am starting to realize that megasquirt is prob too much for me. i will try to get emanage ultimate instead... i heard good stuff about it.
