That's a pretty crazy eletrical bug.

My first guess would be something with the TPS (throttle postion sensor) or the gas pedal acutally shorting something out itself.

Does only the motor turn off? Or do all accessories turn off as well?

Well that is different then.

I would start by checking the IACV, your idle air control valve. It lets air into your engine at idle without the throttle opening.

If you don't have one, I'd highly suggest getting a copy of the factory service manual (just search for 240SX FSM) and following instructions for cleaning your IACV and possibly turning your idle up.

So you dont lose power to your car? Your driving along, take your foot off the accel and the engine just dies but everything else stays on?

Sounds like the good old MAF/blow off valve problem.

Try recirculating your BOV.

Does it idle on start up?

Bruinbear's on to something with your MAF. Is it recirculated or venting to open atomsphere?

no it goes up to about 2000 rpms and bogs down unless i keep my foot on the gas my bov is not recirculated. there is one thing my hot pipe is made from flex pipe from andance auto parts do u think that pipe could be the problem????

Well it sounds like you have a bad maf, and possibly some boost leaks.

Go through the FSM and diagnose your problem, see if its a bad MAF. If you cant rev over 2000-2500 under any throttle condition like it hits a rev limiter and it just bogs out, unable to rev, you most likely have a bad maf.

I would check the grounds of your MAF connector.

Check all connectors for boost leaks.

Probably get a 'real' I/C piping kit, eBay ones are acceptable.

Make sure your IACV is clean and has air going into it.

Try to recirc your BOV.

I may be grasping here but...have you tried simply increasing your idle speed? Always do the easy and cheap stuff first...if the MAF was bad it wouldn't rev over 2500 rpm.
