I saved up 3000 dollar, and now i think i can afford to turbo my 1992 240sx with KA24de. But im not sure if i should buy the parts and make my own kit, or just buy a bolt on kit. Most of the bolt on ones i saw says it is made for 1995 & up, but since the engine are the same, would a kit made for 95& up fit on my 92ka? Any other suggestions will be apperciated, thank you.

im sure most of it would be the same for the s13 but the things that i would think would different are the ic piping, maybe the down pipe. other than that, im not sure. but you might look on ebay for s13 and s14 ic piping and down pipes and see if there different

You need more $$$ unless you have a spare car. Because your going to need a clutch, and there will be htings along the way that you'll need or decide to upgrade while you're there.I bought a kit for 2600, and by the time I got it running I had 3500 invested because of clutch and electronics I wanted to get. As I am now I spent another 1800 in accesories like injectors, fpr, fans, etc That doens't count any of my money towards engine rebuilds...

For 3K, I would piece together my own kit, and rebuild the engine and drivetrain with the good stuff, or you WILL spend more later. You could probably build the engine for 1K or a little more depending on your power goals. Then, I would get a better clutch, again depending on your goals.

Then engine management, this is the deal-breaker, so if you remember those power goals, you can make a rational decision with enough research. But when you set your goals, be VERY realistic. If you underestimate your needs, then you will find yourself in a money pit in a hurry, just as many of us have.

Finally, worry about your turbo setup. You can find deals if you look in the right places, but I would not suggest going cheap with the mechanically intensive parts, or if you do, be sure you go with the names, and find ways to go cheaper.

This will be a stretch at 3K if your goals are stout, but if you can realistically live with 200-250hp, then you can pretty easily stay in that budget.

Myself? I know I will want LOTS of boost, so I have a cheap turbo which will get me DD'ing for a while, then I am thinking of stepping up to a 60-1 or so with bigger injectors. But given my experience, if I would have spent the money the first time, I would not have spent so much in total. Learn from our mistakes via the SEARCH function, and you won't be one of those (like me) that two months from now decides SR should be the way. If you aren't willing to take the proper steps, then an SR is for you.

ok i see what your asking and thats the same thing im wondering but no one really answered your question,so i will rephrase it.does the injectors, manifold, ecu, turbo, wastegate and blow-off valve work for a 92 ka24de,if the kit is meant for a 95+ka24 de.exhaust and ic piping is all adjustable the rest isnt.

just to answer your question, yes you can use the kit, BUT you need to reprogram or retune the emanage for your car since its for s14's with obdII in mind.

the manifold and everything bolt right up. you need to fab up your own intercooler and so forth.

I have a almost complete bolt on kit for you. Was my IAP kit. I can even include my enthalpy ecu, z32mafs, and injectors. [email protected]
