I am face with a decission, something to work on during the winter time. I have a 92 240 coupe and I can either remove my engine and make it turbo or swap it and put an RB20, I can get one with the ecu, harness and transmission for pretty cheap. What do you guys suggest.

KA-T. Cheap and reliable, more displacement and torque.

Can be...

Go poke around the KA-T forum. I've seen a kit pieced together for $900.

But when building a motor, there is a golden rule:

You can have 2 out of these 3 choices: Cheap, reliable & fast.

I say, keep it cheap and reliable. You should be able to put together a t25 or t28 kit. Boost it to about 10 psi and reach around 230hp for around a grand.

But I do want to also say that I, for one, would not plan on turboing a KA with only $1000. It's gonna feel too restrictive when you want more power. A $3000 budget with get you over 300hp.

a t25 setup might run you about a grand depending on what kind of fuel control your using.
