KA-T on the track?

Anybody tracked(road course) their KA-T 240SX? It's got oil squirters, but I'm wondering just how reliable the motor would be under say, 6-7psi from a T3/T04e .50 trim? Keep in mind it'll either be on the brakes or at WOT for 25 minutes at a time, mile after mile.

Assume an adequate radiator and oil cooler.

Is this kind of abuse just asking to pop your block with the "piece meal" sort of engine management(S-AFC + larger inj. and maybe an FPR) that's likely to be ran?

have a look at my web site under the race section.

http://www.turbo240sx.ca

its hard to upkeep a turbo motor for road racing though i run the car at 14psi on the track..its just part of racing....

the car is very quick, and is now just slightly faster than race ready(r tires and r brake pads) z06 corvettes..

Could 6-7psi from a T3/T04e with a "ghetto" fuel management system(probably larger inj + S-AFC and maybe a low rate FPR) be fine on the stock engine? I don't even know if it's possible to get a good tune that way that could take minutes upon minutes of WOT. New forged pistons necessary?

Nice website BTW - car looks quick.

Oh, and how do your Z32 brakes hold up? What kind of pads you running?

I ran the track event at last year's convention at 6.5 psi on my T04B. It was quite hot out, so I retarded the timing a little to be on the safe side, but it held up just fine. I was running a FMU on a stock fuel system.

Z32 brakes work well for the 240 btw. I'd say unless you are running gobs of HP and running on tracks with long fast braking zones, the Z32 brakes will hold up fine.

the 300zx 30mm brakes are "ok" meaning that for the power and speed that i have they hold up for a while...but extended lapping i can still fade them out...i really need 6 pots with vents...

i use hawke blue pads..and brembo rotors drilled out to 4 bolt..and motul rbf600 fluid..

its a good low cost set up over stock brakes
