I have a built ka with all parts from ka24de.com and a hi volume oil pumpI have a stewart warner ( good gauge) oil pressure gauge and after a while I drive it sometimes will read 10-15 psi of oil pressure at idle , once i igve gas it will come up to 40 at 3000 rpm . Is this normal and what is your numbers on idle , at cold start up it is at 60psi, but goes low after driving . I am worried bcause that is what killed my last motor. If your numbersa re close I will feel better. I have tried thicker oil , it helps with pressure but runs bad. please help me with thoughts

FSM spec is minimum 15psi at idle, and more than 60psi under 3500rpm, no load (IIRC...I'll check the FSM when I get home).

Electronic or mechanical gauge? What oil? Where is the pressure source for the gauge compared to the feed line for the turbo?

It is electronic and is in the 3 way splitter at filter where the turbo line is coming from. it is reg. mobil 10-30 I will put synthetic in in 200 miles , I have 2800 miles on new motor. I tried 20-50 thanks rick for any help you can give. I just want to not be worried about it. I love the car and it runs great.

FSM for a '93 says > 11psi at idle (on a warm engine) and 60-70psi @ 3000 RPM.

Since the turbo line is just feeding it and can't hold pressure , is it possible to see a loss at the splitter of lines?

You shouldn't.
