I wanna know how long a KA24DE-T would last on 7psi and 12psi compared to it stock. I was told that if it were well taken care of, stock could last to up to 300k miles.

yeah I'd also like to know this, especially on 7psi. I've been considering buying a 24E long-block and rebuilding it for a KA-T application instead of going SR but i was concerned about engine lifespan

235,486 miles. Exactly.

Honestly, that's like asking exactly how long an apple will take to spoil.

It all depends on how well the motor is tuned and very much so depends on how hard the motor is driven. There are far too many variables to take into account for a definite answer.

In short, there is no cut and dry number.

We all know that there's no clear cut answer. We're just asking for a broad answer, like how I heard a well taken care of stock KA can live for 300k miles.

damn really? thats the longest Ive heard a KA-T going for. not that I've heard of em breaking down at 100k or whatever, just I dont know anyone who's had it for THAT long. congrats man!

to "answer" the question though, I think it's fair to say that if you take care of a KA-T, dont rag on it, and keep it in good tune with good caretaking, it will last just as long as any other car on the road.

I was asking Wayne from phase2 the same question and supposedly he says his friend/customer Ty from Arizona have ran over 10psi of boost over the last three years and his engine is finally starting to wear out.

191K miles is definitely impressive. How many miles have you been running boost?

theres plenty of stock ka's that have died well before 100k. also quite a few kat's that are close to or above 200k.

i love nissans. my first car had 380,000 miles before it died. which was my fault cause i was young and didn't do oil changes on time. but that car was so quite when it was on i wasn't sure if was really on. my poor 87 max.

Honestly its all about the tuning and how efficient and approximate the tuning was. If the tuning was lets say more of a Generalized tune such as a dial tuned timing retard or otherwise rather than a digitally enhanced specific monitor of timing settings then the engine isnt going to be wher eyou want it specifically and will most likely end up dieng earlier because the settings laid forth are more speculative.

Just like buying a car at over 100k miles from a guy who never touched it who bought it form another dude who didnt tell him anything about it. You have no idea what happened to it and neither does the seller. But if you had precise info in regards to the tuning and setup then I would expect to see your engine live leaps and bounds.

i think unless u are pushing crazy amount of boost, the KA can stand 5-10lbs of boost easily just like SR, that's if u maintain it well, there is no bad car, just bad owner

I bought my s14 with 70000 mi on it and put 60k more to make 130, and then it blew, took me 2.5 years of hard canyon driving, drifting and a year before i threw the rod i had a top end rebuild, alway changed the oil.

I think Slos13s Ka is over 200k and at like 10lbs. I could be wrong but, i dont think so. Maybe he will Tell us himself.

210k miles. last 10k were with 10-12 psi. driven like a scalded dog...really. I beat the piss out of this thing on a daily basis.

refuses to blow up. Timing chain rattles like hell and it drips (not burns) a lot of oil but fires up every start. I run it pretty rich.

Edit: ^^ haha, just read last post. spoooky
