K ive been thinking of goin KA-T but ive been hearing horrible horrible stories of peeps blowing thier KAs up in less than a month of running 6-7 psi. I just wanna know what I can do to lenghten the engine life without touching the internals so soon. Most of the guys ive talked to says tackle the fuel issue *bump up to Z32 injectors, fuel pump etc* Any tuning ideas? Im thinking of goin T3/T4 .60 trim, with safc to tune it *then prolly go JWT ECU* 370cc injectors, walrboro pump, colder plugs *jes dunno how much colder i have to go* Any other info would be appreciated. My KA has roughly 106k, pushed hard but taken care of.

1:boost spikes - get a good bov and wastegate2: fuel - you're headed in the right direction. i would never consider turboing a 240 on stock injectors. notice that critical noun, *I*. Others' mileage may vary, and I know for a fact that people have done it (and are doing it today), but I still wouldn't do it.

$80 for the peace of mind offered by bigger injectors is well worth it to me.

I'm shooting for 7 psi on a t3/t04e .60/.63 with 57 trim comp wheel, to start out. if i can get timing and fuel locked down, i'll see about pushing it to 10 or so. but i won't go any higher on stock block for now. This summer will bring a KA buildup in my living room, but it's not that time yet, and I don't want to rush an engine rebuild cause I blew mine up. :)

*retard your timing! Your playing some safe cards when you retard your timing properly as per amount of boost. If I remember correctly, approx. 1 degree per 4psi or something. Dont quote me on that. MSD makes like easy when it comes to retarding the ignition. Do a search.

i've seen people recommend 1/4 degree per psi, 1/2 degree, .75 degree and 1 degree. I'm not sure which one is correct.

Obviously the larger ones are safer, but I imagine that each engine and setup has its own boost retard amount that it likes best.

255 lph fuel pump is a good idea, retarding timing is also a good idea, and get to a dyno and tune. but before you even order a turbo, do a compression test to be sure.

very nice looking car by the way.

that’s only because you haven't heard the stories of all the people that are running 12psi+ "hey today my ka didn’t blow up"

see where I’m getting at?

1/2 degree per PSI is good. 6-7 psi on stock internals KA is safe when done the right way and assuming the engine is in decent condition
