my car is having awful idle problems. i am running 370cc injectors with stock maf, safc2 and plx m300 wideband. my boost gauge is reading -12in vacuum and the wideband is reading 14.5 afrs?! i thought it was my compression at first but i did a compression test today and it came out to be 165 across all 4 cyls. i did a boost leak test today and i heard a slight hiss coming from the rear of the intake manifold near the bottom. i thought it was my brake boost hose because i tee'd off 2 places but they were fine. safc2 is set at -27 across for low throttle and 0 for high throttle. in and out settings were set at 5 - 5. i turn my car on and when i step on the gas slightly, it stays at 3k rpm and holds there!! what the heck is going on? would a small vacuum leak make my car idle that high?

Yes it would. Your boost/vac gauge should be reading at least -20 even at idle so I'd look for any leaks in your intake system, ic piping, bov and vacum lines.

As far as your IN/OUT, I'm running the stock kade MAF and I'm 1in 1out. So maybe try changing that too but only after you've looked for the vacumm leak.

Trouble shoot one problem at a time and good luck.

if your boost gauge is reading correctly -12 is not much vacumm. you said that you heard a hissing noise after you did your boost leak test. Were you able to find the exact spot with some carb cleaner?

is the throttle cable hooked on the intake manifold or something else causing the throttle to be partially opened? (safc read 0 throttle ?)

a vacumm \ boost leak will have irradic idle issues, fix your low vacumm first then diagnose other issues if your throttle cable is free.

throttle cable seems to be closed because the safc reads 0% throttle at idle and when i floor the pedal it reads 100%. i sprayed brake cleaner all around the intake manifold while the car was idling and nothign happened.

5in 5out worked perfect for me with a stock maf and ecu

the throttle plate could still be open some and not show any throttle %. go to sensor check and look at TPS voltage

find where the air is leaking on the manifold. my car wouldnt idle at all if i blew a vaccuum line off. glad my new intake manifold only has 2 vaccuum lines on it

maf is around 1 volt at idle and tps is at .45 to .55 volts at idle.

If there is a leak in the intake manifold, find it, and plug it appropriately. A leak here will be like having the throttle open slightly. Though, it won't compensate correctly for fuel.

i meant throttle volt is 1v with the car off... i cant even get it to idle properly so i cant get a real measurement at idle.

i adjusted the TPS to read .5v when the car is off with the throttle closed. once again i pressure tested the system again. i keep hearing air coming from around the EGR valve and the BPT. would a torn hose or bad BPT/EGR valve cause this leakage?

Could be your EGR/BPT hoses.Did you remove the Carbon Canister?Try plugging all vacumm ports not needed.

SAFC should be 5in 5 out OR 6 in 6 out -27 all aroundTPS voltage at idle should be .45~.50 at most.Check your leak, then check your TPS

there are 4 vacuum ports right under the throttle.....did you check and see of they're taking care of?
