KA24DET idle issue..whats new? any ideas of what it could be. It has a jim wolf ecu, cobra maf, typical internet turbo package iam guessing. Bumped the idle on the intake a lil didnt help,. and its damn near maxed out. Any ideas? I was told it could be a " fuel temp. sensor" ?....help! sad.gif

Runs fine once giving it gas..no bogging. Only prob while driving is slowing down for a light, let off the gas..DEAD. dies instantly. I adjusted the idle at like 1500 and it idles fine for a second, then BOOM...dead..almost like someone killed the fuel supply. mad.gif help?

There are a ton of these idle issue threads, but in your case what you descibe with it going dead would prob be something with the MAF sensor, this happens if you even have a NA motor and try to do a throttle body cleaning with the motor running and disconnect the intake anywhere before the Mass Air Flow sensor. This might be some kind of leak, a hose not in the right spot, a bad sensor, bad tune on the ecu is probibly it,they may have tuned it for the wrong MAF like a 300ZX or the stock one and not the Cobra MAF, this would give the computer the wrong value and cause it to die.

Try putting in the stock MAF and see if this helps or JWT might know on your order which MAF they programmed your ECU for. Last thing might be that the Cobra MAF might be bad or that it is wired wrong.

Exactly how should it be wired? Any diagrams?

Not sure I personally would only use a 300zx MAF, but the important thing is-- did they program the ECU to have this specific MAF-- if not it will be the wrong value at the computer and make it think there is a problem.

To make it short if they did not program it for the MAF put the stock one back on

Well the ECU has a sticker on it that says Cobra maf...and maf is good. So i dont know.... i tried some other stuff, seems to me its something to do with the tune maybe...i have no idea

Kinda sounds like you have no decel air control, and your VTA blow off is flooding your engine when you let off the gas.

Any of this sound possible to you, are you venting your bov into the air? How do you do your tuning, safc?
