That is to release crank case pressure. When you have blow by it is supposed to go back into the intake that way you don't have any metered air releasing into the atmosphere. Some people just put a breather there because of oil residue going back into the intake. In my opinion the best thing to do is route all the crankcase air presages to the bottom if a stock catch can and then route the exit to the cai.

that hose should head back to the intake before the turbo but after the mafs, definitely dont run your recirc line there!

im saying you shouldent run the recirc valve to the nipple on the valve cover, both the recirc and valve cover should end up after the maf and before the turbo.

Would a y fitting suffice or do I have to drill and weld another bung?

ideally you will have two bungs. If you use a Y fitting the BOV recirc line should be run direct with the vent hose T'd in. The fear is that when the BOV vents boost pressure it will travel up the Crank Case Vent hose and pressurize your crank case, blowing gaskets!!
