Ok,I just finshed my ka turbo project in my 1995 240.I put in a new nissan crank,Clevite bearings and new stock rods and pistons,I also put in s-13 cams.My turbo setup is a t25 turbo(off a sr20) SSac bottom mout manifold, 3 inch downpipe and 2 1/2 exhaust back to a 5Zigen muffler,I am using a Old school hks super blow off valve,Front mount intercooler,Still using the stock maf sensor and injectors for now I have 370 injectors, and a infiniti maf and a High volume fuel pump A chipped ecu tuned for the turbo injectors etc., that still needs put in.I wanted to leave the maf and injectors stock until I break the motor in.Now heres the problem when I let off the gas or go to downshift it wants to backfire sometimes,I havent boosted past 5 psi yet,and the motor has great oil pressure and runs so good. Also I am not running a safc or anything else,If you guys could give me advice on how I can improve my setup or just have any advice that would be great,Also is anyone running something similar and know how much horsepower this setup puts out!!! thanks brian

Put thos einjectors and ecu in ASAP. If your boosting your are most likely running lean. Why on earth did you buy a new crank and buy factory rods and pistons when forged was just a few more $$$. If you want to break your motor in, then remove turbo. Just put mafs on end of IC pipe where turbo connects. plug oil feed line put on factory exhaust.

I bought factory internals because I got them really cheap, from someone on this website,Also I think its running actually too rich.

The crank I put back in was a factory one that was turned down I had to put bigger bearings in.You can get new cranks for courtesyparts.com for a little less than 700.I bought aot of parts from them.

You my be running a little rich doring light driving do to bigger exhaust but when you go into boost you are running lean. You have nothing to tune your ecu with and your stock maf, injectors and fuel pump cant keep up with boost without somthing to tune with. also what did you do with your timing?

boost is not what kills a car, BAD tuning does.

change out those injectors, put in a higher flow fuel pump and put SOMETHING in there to tune with.

What do you recommend for tuning.

S-AFC and a wideband to tune with. Your not running that big of a turbo so 370 injector and infinity maf you have should be good enough for your setup. or you can put that tuned ecu in with a S-AFC and a wideband to fine tune it and that way you dont have to worry about your timing.

Remember if you dont use that tuned ecu then you need to do somthing with your timing

So you recommend a wideband and safc even with the ecu.

yes to fine tune. i have a t3t4 with a tuned ecu and running rich so i also have to get a S-afc and a wideband to fine tune. which with that i can run my bov open instead of recerculated. anything else i suggest either searching or check out the stickys on building a KA-T

Get ngk wideband. Our sponsor sells them I got one.or innovate or aem our sponsors sell all of them. You don't need and safc but you either need dyno or wideband to make sure your safe.

Hey i was thinking of fully rebuilting my ka24de by upgrading my internals with stronger rod, piston and etc. Do you think its possible that i can still pass smog? Even though i just wanted to run stock maf, ecu, injectors, fuel pump? would it work? because maybe later i wanted to turbo it.
