The KA is, in a way...allready stroked. Believe me, you dont want to stroke it any more. There is more talk of DE-stroking them than there is of stroking them.

I know of a few ka24's that have been stroked more than 96mm. One was stroked to 98mm and a 91mm bore was used, with a sohc 12 valve head. Basically all he created was the engine that comes in mazda b2600, chrysler van, and the mitsubishi starion, a 12 valve 2.6l I4 with same bore and stroke. Needless to say, it did not work out to well. With the even worse rod/stroke ratio, weakened crank etc...

The other one was a 2.7l project, and i have heard no final word and suspect this adventure has ended.

Point is, you can easily make 200hp with stock bore/stroke under ~7000 rpm. If you want to raise the rpm limit to make more power, you can do this with obvious trade offs.

Gas mileage and performance do not mix.

If you want decent gas mielage and good low end torque, buy an older N/A MR2.

As for the stoked KA...that's not the way to make huge power with it. You need the revs for big N/A power without forced induction, and stroking the KA will reduce the practical rev limit to 5500 or below...and with only 2.4-2.7 liters to play with, you'll never make big numbers. You could maybe do a little over 160, but you can do that with a stock block and bolt on performance stuff, like I/H/E, ECU, etc...
