i am at the moment doing a sr20 swap in my 90 s13. can we swap the plugs on the ka transmission w/ the Sr? for example the speed sensor. also the ka has 3 plugs but the sr only has 2, so i was wondering what the hell does that mean. sorry im new to this.

yes, sensors you can swap from KA to SR. As a matter of fact you HAVE to swap the speed sensor with USDM ones otherwise, your speedo won't read correctly.

My KA trans harness had some left over plugs that did not get used as well. Not a big deal.

If you have an S13 SR going into an S13 you dont have to swap the speed sensor. The speed sensors are the same, the gear on the SOHC speed sensor just has one less tooth on its gear. There are three sensors on the SR transmission. The one closest to the engine is the reverse sensor, hook this up if you want your reverse lights to work.

The speed sensor is the one with the large cylinder coming out the side. And the last one is the neutral position sensor, you do not need to hook this sensor up.
