I'm compiling a list of all the sensors in an KA/SR engine, their location, and purpose for my own usefulness and thought Id turn to you wisemen for a little fill-ins. These are according to a 95 DOHC KA24DE but I'm guessing that they'd be roughly the same for an SR of this generation only including turbo equipment. I know I'm missing a few but heres what I have so far:Oxygen Sensor - Mounted in exhaust system. Provides a rich/lean reading of exhaust gasses to ecu.Coolant Temperature Sensor - Located on left side of cylinder head (standing outside facing front of car) under intake manifold and meausres coolant temperature, duh.Intake Air Temperature Sensor - In air cleaner housing. Measures intaken air temperature.Mass Air Flow Sensor (MAFS) - Located between air cleaner housing and intake tube/piping. Directly measures amount of air flow to the engine.Absoulte Pressure Sensor (MAP) - In abbreviation, "M" standing for manifold. Connected to MAP/BARO (manifold absolute pressure/barometer) solenoid valve by pressure hose and detects the ambient barometric pressure and intake manifold pressure.Throttle Position Sensor (TPS) - Located on side of throttle body and monitors throttle plate movement.Camshaft Position Sensor/Cam Angle Sensor (CAS?) - Inside of distributor housing and monitors engine speed and piston position.Crankshaft Angle Sensor (CRAS) - Attatched to transmission housing and detects fluxuations in the engine's revolutions.
Thats all I have but right away, I know I'm missing the Knock Sensor which I dont know anything about, and an EGR Temp Sensor which I'm guessing monitors recirculated exhaust gas temperatures and is somewhere under the intake manifold with the other EGR solenoids & hose routings. Everyone, please add to what I've got already and maybe correct anything I've gotten wrong. Thanks a lot.Chris
