Hey guys,Chances are if I order and engine I'm not going to be able to afford a clip.

I know I will need to replace the jdm oilpan and make sure i have an uncut harness, ecu, ignitor chip. I'm under the impression I can use the Cam Angle Sensor from the 240 and I can also use the MAFS. (Correct me if i'm wrong).

I also know that I will run into small piping problems with the KA rad hoses. I was wondering if I should use my KA rad and just deal with it or if I should buy this SR rad off eBay. The guy is in Montreal with isn't too far from me. Saves me from being raped by customs.

Also, is it feasible to do a custom FMIC or is it better to go with a GReddy or Trust/APEXi unit?

if you search, you'll find out all the info you need buried in here somewhere.

but anyways, i digress.

the CAS from the 240 is completely different from the SR CAS (the KA has a distributor and the SR doesn't). You will need the CAS from the SR. You can wire in a KA SOHC MAF and it'll work fine. The stock oil pan shouldn't be a problem unless it's mangled so much that it can't be used. Most oil pans can be reshaped and used.

The SR and KA radiator aren't too different except for the location of the hoses. To use the KA radiator, you'd need to fabricate a crossover hose, but then you wouldn't be able to use the SR fan shroud and engine fan. Good time to upgrade to an electric fan.

A custom FMIC is just as good as a kit FMIC. I prefer custom IC's because you can place them higher and therefor have less piping between your turbo and your engine. Many stock turbo volvos come with nice FMIC's that you can mount high. You'll have to do some junkyard shopping for that.
