I was driving home one night, and i got on the highway, and i was in about 3rd to get going, and i give it 75 % throttle, i shift at 4800 rpms, and i started to hear a small ticking, almost similar to a harness or something hitting the fan, so i think, ok, ill check it out when i get home, since it was very light and didnt seem to important, i go about 2 miles, it starts getting more aggressive, complete loss of power nearly, i can cruise though, and whenever i clutch in, it stalls, no matter how throttle you give it. So i think, ok, ill pull over at a gas station, the car barely wants to hold idle, will stall out whenever, but if i force it, i can probably get it somewhere, but its just been sitting in my driveway, its very hard to start, but when it does, it seems to hold idle fairly well until you start driving it for a few minutes, i read bout the upper timing chain guide, and how that might have been a possibility, but when i ripped off the valve cover, it was still intact, is it still possible a loose timing chain may cause that, hitting the guide? or is it worse, like valve tap or something?

Would it be a good use for an SR swap?
