KA S14 speed sensor, auto or manual

I have an S13 transmission with what I assume to be a S13 SR speed sensor and my S14 gauge cluster is reading 2x normal speed. I think I need to order a new speed sensor but I am not sure if I need to get the S14 auto sensor or the S14 manual sensor. Thanks.

My car used to be an auto but got the manual swap when the SR was installed. Which leads me to my questioning of the auto or manual sensor.

I'm in the exact same situation as you. Just did my SR swap and my speedo is now reading twice as fast. Searching on some boards has led me to believe we need a S14 manual speed sensor because the auto won't fit into a manual transmission.

I am going to call Heavy Throttle soon about this, because I remember Jeff posted something about this on the forum but I can't locate the post. If I remember correctly, he went through and tried some of the sensors and figured out which to use.

No, I haven't called them yet, nor have I figured out which to use. I saw your same problem on 240forums. Opinions seem to differ on which to use. I am just going to buy the manul sensor and see if it works, if not I will try the auto. One of the two should work. I will keep in touch.

EDIT: I just ordered the speed sensor from Pinnacle Nissan. I will let you know if it works for me.

The price was $99.77 shipped for either the auto or manual sensor.EDIT: BTW I ordered the manual sensor, I forgot to add that to the other post.

I just got it in the mail today, Pinnacle took awhile to ship it. I am not sure it is the right part however, because the part they sent me did not have a gear on the end of it. Do I have to take the gear off my old speed sensor or what? Thanks, Alex.
