Hey I wasnt sure which forum to post this in, so if I'm wrong sorry...
I dont think the SR will ever be a good option for me. I dont know if I will be able to afford that big of an expense at one time, and I cant have my car down and out for too long (I would have to do the work, since I cant afford to have it done). So maybe adding on to the KA bit by bit would be the best thing I could do. I have a couple questions about this process, maybe someone can help me out.
1. how far can I go with the KA just using bolt ons? Is it even remotely possible to reach somewhere around 250 horses with these types of upgrades?
2. if I EVER had the money to go turbo, what would I need to replace to both install the turbo and protect the engine for around 300 horses? I imagine rods, fuel system, pistons, etc, but what would I need specifically? Is $4000 a good estimate as to how much it would cost to go turbo?
3. If I'm going to build up the stock engine, it would seem to make sense that I would need a low(er) mileage engine to begin with. What do you guys think the cut-off point should be between an engine that is too old and an engine that is "young" enough? If I end up having to buy a higher mileage engine, are there parts that I should replace right away to bring a little more youth to it? What tends to go first in high mileage KAs?
Please lemmie know what ya guys think. I know it's just another KA thread- but it's pretty valid questions I think. Thanks!
