Are there any ka's in here that are pushing atleast 180hp? and if so what do you have and how much was it all. I've been reading up, and about to get an sr im suppose to order it soon. The thing is i've been trying to find reasons to keep the ka, only problem is i want my car to be FAST, i want to break into 14's at least and the easiest way is of course the sr20. People lately have been saying that its easy to break 180 on a n/a ka but at the same time people are saying no way. please help!

High compression pistons, Cams, Intake, Headers, Exhaust and you will probably hit 180. If that doesnt do it add underdrive pulleys, and electric fans. JWT ecu with the intake headers exhaust cams and pistons should net you close to 200 though.

Well, I dont know exactly how high of compression you need, or what lift/duration cams you need. For ease you could just go with the NISMO cams since you dont even have to use new shims. Any increase in compression will yeild a decent HP gain. If you plan to daily drive it I wouldnt suggest going over 11:1. I had my pistons milled down to 10.5:1 though.

.040 stock pistons, match port head, balance, blueprint, ECU upgrade, header, stock cams, etc.Over 200hp and torque.A LOT more $$$ than a SR. My advice...buy the SR. I built mine for a specific race class.

I have a 98 with exhuast, headers, intake, electric fans, soon to have stage 2 cams, oh yea and i have the whole pulley set. With just that im right on the A** of mustang gt's. A guy in the altanta 240sx crew ran a 14.8 on just intake, headers, exhuast, 1991 "hot cams", custom fan, ecu!Id say for you to hit 14's EASY you would need:

-Right side mount CAI-headers-exhuast-stage 2 cams from pdm-racing.com , way better than hot cams, they add about 10hp to the wheels.-electric fan wich willcost you 5 bucks-Unorthodox racing pulley set-port and polish head-polished intake-Then after all that get the chip programmedThen to put that power to the wheels better-Spec Stage 2 clutch -Lightweight flywheel

Your car will be rev friendly and a pretty quick N/A KA. Then if you want get the pistons and rings but they will cost you. This is also a perfect setup for a turbo, just minus theheaders and intake.

That will get 14s yes, but 200HP no.
