I was wondering if anyone in Southern California knew anywhere that could quote me on a KA24E to SR20DET swap for my 89' 240SX... Im talking stock to stock, except for the nessesary parts to accomodate the changeover like the bigger fuel pump, computer, gauges...etcIve found two quotes; one from a place very close to where I live for $3,700 with no ACand the other place will do it for $3,600 with ACBut then the first place when told about the AC and the quote from cheaper place said the AC will push the SR over the limit as far as heat. Makes sense to me so maybe Ill suffer and go without AC. Anyway, if anyone has anymore pointers or knows of some good places (what I mean by good is, trustworthy, thorough engine pre-testing, warrenty kinds of places) please let me know.

AC just put more strain on the engine, and if you have a clogged stock radiator then yeah, you're gonna have over heating problems. If you have something like a koyo, then you'll be fine. Personally, I'd go with the 3,600 w/ac, just don't use it till you get a bigger radiator.

IS this quote to take a KA out and buy a sr then put it in? or just swap the motors? cause if so you need to drive out to Kentucky lol I got mine done for 1200 and I have a friend who does them for 700 if you have both engines and all the parts.

yeah this is for the complete motor... "stock to stock" they said, I would still have to get a down pipe, exhaust, radiator.. and other amenities to accommodate the SR (if I wanted it done right)Smog still concerns meohIll check out that place in grand terrace, never heard of it. Some of these places are hard to find.I don't lack the talent or motivation to do this myself, I just don't have the equipment, space, or experience. Its an important project to me and I want it done right.thanks for all your help on this.BTW,does anyone know where I put these Kazama parts, they are supposed to stiffen and help with handeling (which I seriously need)...
